When I stream a movie to my TV with subtitles enabled, it is constantly choppy even at lower quality. Every second the audio and video stops and stutters, so it is not watchable.
Unfortunately we need subtitles in order to watch movies, and without them working we can’t use Plex at all.
Other clients and server configurations tried:
I tried the same thing streaming to my iOS phone (Plex 3.11.1), and I set it to force subtitles to be burned like on the TV, but I didn’t experience any issues watching there.
I originally tried on a Synology NAS Plex server (1.19.3.2764), and thought it might be under-powered so I set up a Plex server on my desktop computer which is much more powerful. Neither hit high CPU and both have the issue with the TV.
I tried disabling hardware encoding from my desktop Plex server. Without hardware encoding, the CPU was still reasonably low (< 40%) but the TV experienced the same issue.
