[BUG] Extras no longer playing after update to 8.0.0.17276

I seem to have got this update over night, I can see that the buttons in a movie or TV show now have a big grey box around them that were not there last night. Most of my movies have extras that I add when I rip the disc and use all the Plex naming conventions. All the extras are there and showing under each movie but non will play with the exception of the trailer if I use the Trailer button, additional trailers that appear blow a movie will not play, when I select one of the extras the image bounces like it registers the remotes input but doesn’t play. All movies and TV shows themselves playback fine.

If I launch Kodi and use the Plex app all of the extras will play.

This is on a Nvidia Shield running the latest updates.

Just checked on my LG TV built in app and all Extras working fine on their too.

I am having the exact same issues. The extras play fine from Windows and Roku but not Nvidia Shield. Have been trying to locate a previous version of the player to install but so far no luck.

Just checked my fire stick and they all play there too so looks like it’s a Shield/Android TV issue.

Same issue here. I haven’t checked Roku, but it is definitely an issue on Android TV and Shield TV.

I also have the same issues with my Minix Neo U9-H Android Box.

I have the same issue as a workaround I’ve disabled enable new video player option and is working now

I tried disabling the new video player and it doesn’t fix it for me :frowning:

Also tried my other Shield in the bedroom and it too has the same issue.

I too went that route, does not correct the problem. This has to be a bug with Plex in their recent upgrade as Nvidia Shield has not upgraded recently.

The same issue exists with the Amazon Fire TV unit, Plex player does not play extras.

Yep just went to watch some extras on my Fire TV and it no longer works, the version is now 8.0.0.17276 the same as my Shield

Same here. FireTV stick and Sony AndroidTV no longer playing extras on player version 8.0.0.17276. mobile versions of the same player work fine on Android tablet and phone.

Updated to 8.0.1.17410 still can’t play extras.

Same problem I’m having on my FireTV app. The extras can be selected, but they do not play. The trailers can be played by clicking the trailer ‘button’.

Updated to 8.0.1.17411-beta and extras still not playing.

Anyone have any idea how we bring this to the attention of the Devs, two updates after it broke and extras still not working?

The only method of alerting Plex that I am aware of is to post, post, post and more posts in any forum you can. Hopefully it will trickle up to the Plex masters and get resolved. However, I am amazed that so few seem to voice any concern over this bug. Perhaps only a few of us actually use the extras! I have also posted on the reddit forum.

Glad to see that fault was not a local one, but sad to see that no one has addressed it yet. I guess I can’t complain (being a free user). Fingers crossed that it will be fixed soon! :slight_smile:

If any of you are running a beta can you try creating a topic in the Beta forum to see if we can flag this issue there?
