I would appreciate being able to see a post that contains a list of known technical issues that Plex is trying to fix. This category should not be changeable by regular users like me.
Over the weekend, my nVIDIA Shield TV quit playing movie extras stored on my NAS. As a result, one of your technical gurus and I spent way too many hours going around in circles. Throughout that time, one thing kept bothering my non-technical mind–those movie extras played just fine when Plex was open on my Mac and linked to my NAS. The only difference was that my TV system used an external streamer. When I disconnected the nVIDIA Shield and connected an Apple TV 4K, those movie extras played just fine, which suggested that the Android-based nVIDIA Shield might be broken, etc. However, when I open the Plex app on my Sony TV, which also is Android-based, those movie extras won’t play. Conclusion: Plex and Android are not behaving properly.
I assume that your technical staff are trying to resolve this issue. Just tell us about it so we don’t go nuts buying new equipment or wasting time trying to fix problems that are beyond our ability to fix. Something like this might help your technical staff, too, by allowing them to point us to this new category when they learn of symptoms in the user’s systems.
