Downloads selections for Filter and Sort are not persistent when selecting other sources in the iOS app. This behaviour does work correctly on MacOS versions.
This is important to me because downloads fail so often that I need to check things download ok, the only way to really do this is to to go Downloads, then each time change the Sort order to time, then tap it again to invert to get the latest entries first.
