Bug in plex client on shield?

Server Version#: 1.20.2.3343
Player Version#: 8.6.0.20351 (shield pro version 8.2.0 (32.6.435.1)

When going into the plex client on the shield today i noticed that my last added movies was gone. I have done no changes to the config and have been the same for months. I tried to add the last added movies to the home screen again. didnt happen. did it again with some others sections i could add. Then tok a reset of the shield. Same error.

Then i did a reset in plex client and did go auto mode for homescreen. All sections ok.
Did go back to manual setup. Tried to remove plex shows etc that i dont use. It then removes all my “my added tv shows” and “just added movies” sections from the client. See video https://youtu.be/MwFppBkckDY

I have seen this when there is a client and/or server update. it kind of resets the home screen forcing you to fix whatever settings got messed up. I’ve never thought twice about it because it’s easy to fix. It may only happen when there is a new “feature” added to Plex like a new streaming option for Plex Pass. Honestly I haven’t paid that close attention to it, but I have seen it mess up causing me to reset it.

yes i can understand this. but i did a reset and back to auto. And then setup to my setup again… and that didnt work. so what do i do now?

I don’t set mine to “auto”. I manually set it up. Could that be it?

I had mine to manual to. So why the items was gone from the menu i dont know. As i can reproduce the error im thinking its a bug. (video)

I’m Missing recent channels on home screen. Looks to be a beta server problem.

im running 1.20.2.3343 isnt that stable version?

nope that’s beta

I was hoping 1.20.2.3370 would fix but its a no go.

hmm… im running it in docker. And the image was stable…at least i did think so.
Ok… will check that… thanks.

@filmstjerne Np, you may not want to back date from beta but go under setting and change to Server update Channel “stable” for the future:) Something with the new scanner can cause problems backdating.

hmm my update channel was set to public not beta. Strange

Odd they must have made is pubic with the bug lol

Yes and its still not fixed in the beta version you have to so.

Yes Plex needs more beta testers to report stuff before it gets out. I think that’s their biggest problem. Hopefully it’ll be fixed on the next beta updateplexheart
Dammit wrong emoji lol

Updated to new docker with 1.20.2.3370 public version and it seems to work for me again.
