Hi. Timeline view on photo view on IOS is NOT working since last update. It freezes.

Same issue on iPod 5th gen, iPod 6th gen an iPhone 11 pro. Timeline just freezes the mobile client. It works in iPads.

Same here on release version on iPhone 11 and Beta on iPad.
I can report same problem. Timeline view freezes and crashes iOS app on iPhone within seconds. iPhone 10.
I’ll test my iPad later.
Timeline in Windows Chrome works fine.
Same here but library view also freezes. Works fine from windows 10 laptop client and ROKU with same library. It seems like photo libraries with alot of folders brings out this bug. In my case it’s a library with over 3500 folders. Another smaller photo library works fine. Please fix this!
Same freezing for me on Iphone 11 (Plex app) and iPad Pro(Plex App) but works fine on Galaxy Fold (all interface browser or app), XIAOMI TV player (Plex App), SAFARI PLEX web browser access(On MAC, IPAD and IPHONE). From my side I have another problem I cannot upload anymore my picture from my iPhone where with my Galaxy Fold no problem.On my iPhone I have the message impossible to find the server and even not possible to switch the service off, freezing no action possible.
I tried to downgrade to a previous version of Plex Server on my Synology NAS 1.18.5.2309 but in vain same problem, then I completely removed the app and installed from scratch the 1.18.5.2309 same doesn’t work. I updated to the latest server version and wait for an update… I give up !
I watched it in the CONSOLE. It’s definitely the IOS app that fails and the server sees the app closing the connection. This really needs fixing.
Plex. Would be good for you to reply with which drop the fix will be in. We are paying for the app it’s not free

Have you tired to install an older version of Plex App on your iOS device ? I mean if this is feasible …
How exactly do you install an older version of the IOS application? I did not see a way of doing that with the Apple store?

Just installed Plex on them. Confirming issue.
I can still view recently added photos from the home screen, but as soon as I navigate to the Timeline view the thumbnails don’t load and the app freezes. Console shows Unknown Metadata type: folder in the logs when this happens.

Yesterday I updated to IOS 14 all my devices and Plex App was also afterward updated then on my Iphone 11 I can now read the timeline pictures but my Ipads are still freezing as before. I tried to reactivate “camera upload “ on my Iphone but still doesn’t work… What a pain to must pay for an Icloud plan for my photo backup when I paid for I lifetime pass with and bought a server almost just for that a couple of years ago !!
Michael, I do have the same errors appearing on my Plex server console too so I maybe the problem comes also from the server app who knows …
I see exactly the same errors in my console. Neither timeline nor library works with Photos in one library. I have another library where it works fine. I upgraded to IOS 14 and it made no difference. I hate the be a complainer but there are many posts now in the forum exactly like this. The IOS application is just not working right for photos. How about at least an acknowledgement that there is a problem and it’s being worked on.
Update:
Updated iPhone 11 Pro to iOS 14 and the error remains.
Updated Plex Server to version 1.20.1.3252 and the error remains.

Same problem here. Older iPhone 6s on iOS 14. Library and Timeline view freezes the app.

Same problem for a couple of months now. All of our iPhones (iPhone 7-11) lock up when selecting photo timeline or library. This is very frustrating and taking way too long to fix.
