Hi Plex team,
I’m reporting a problem with the Plex Movie Agent regarding regional French on TMDb. The issue is that Plex seems to ignore fr-FR (France) and instead pulls posters/logos in fr-CA (Canada), even when the library is set to France.
Example:
For the tv show “Slow Horses”, Plex displays the Canadian logo (“Les Déshonorés”) while a French (fr-FR) version exists on TMDb : Slow Horses (TV Series 2022- ) - Posters — The Movie Database (TMDB)
Why this is a problem:
- It creates visual inconsistencies in the library: when the server is set to France, fr-FR posters are expected, not fr-CA.
- fr-CA posters may not match the title or design, which can be confusing.
- This seems like an agent bug rather than a configuration issue, as other users have reported similar fr-FR vs fr-CA issues.
What I’ve tried:
- Settings → Agents → Movies → Plex Movie → Country set to France.
- Metadata refresh – still some movies show fr-CA instead of fr-FR.
Request / suggestion:
- Can the Plex Movie Agent prioritize fr-FR resources from TMDb when the library is set to France?
- If fr-FR doesn’t exist, show the default/original poster.
