BUG: Left nav not scrollable, therefore can't get to server settings

After a long-overdue update to 1.14.1.5488, I simply could not find the server settings. A couple of posts said to “look on the left”, but I couldn’t find anything but “General”.

Turns out that, apparently, the left Navigation bar doesn’t scroll and the scroll bar on the right doesn’t move the Nav menu. Thus, everything below “General” was simply off the bottom of the screen. I had to set Chrome to use a 50% view to see all of the items. Plex has had an annoying habit for the last couple of years of making sure things look super-pretty while not making sure that they work or can be used.

While ranting about “settings” and bad UI design, there really shouldn’t be three or four different “settings”:

  1. The wrench-and-screwdriver on the top right (which has a tool-tip/Alt text of “Settings”)
2 The word “SETTINGS” in caps below STATUS
3 The Word “Settings” (not in caps) below MANAGE on the home page

“Settings” and the wrench lead to different pages. The Settings-Wrench leads to a page that is not under the “SETTINGS” section, but under the “WEB CLIENT” section.

At a minimum, the tool-tip should say “Client Settings” and “SETTINGS” should be “SERVER SETTINGS”

Thanks.

I’m on that same version and my left nav scrolls up and down.

Have you tried a different browser or delete cache and cookies and try again?

It scrolls in Edge. Thanks for the tip. Maybe my chrome is messed up.
