Just puting it out there that there seems be be a anying bug in the current LG plex update.

if you have watched a show or movie, it shows this checkmark right? if the selection box goes over this, than the checkmark will be removed.
this makes it very hard to keep track of what movies I did, or did not watch.
its driving me crazy

What model number LG is that exactly?

Just to make sure I understand. As you move focus from one movie poster to the next the check mark disappears when the focus comes lands on it?

Is there a particular screen where this is happening or anywhere?

I have noticed the same thing on my LG TV. Not a major issue but annoying anyway.

I also have the same problem where the tick disappears and also i have noticed there is now no little yellow bar at the bottom showing where you are upto as well

This also happens with the time bar that appears at the bottom of the cover of each chapter that is not yet finished.

I have the same problem since the latest version that was released this week. My LG G2 shows the following information in the Plex app:

App Name: Plex for LG
Client-Version: 5.86.5
Plattform Version: 8.3.0

I can confirm that both the watched checkmark and the time bar disappear when a show or episode is selected.

I’ve also noticed that when I first open an episode, for example, only the resolution is displayed at the bottom right. Only when I put the focus on another episode and then go back again, the selected audio track and subtitles are also displayed. But then the watched checkmark and the timeline of this episode disappear.

The same bugs appear on my LG G3 (Plattform Version: 8.3.1) with the latest Plex app.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon as it is very annoying.

Can confirm this is also happening on the Samsung TV Tizen Plex app.

Same thing on LG webOS TV. Seems to be a widespread problem. Also: thumbnail progress bar disappears. Hope for a prompt fix.

@BigWheel Can confirm here too, and the exact same bug is also happening on Plex HTPC on Windows (do they share a codebase?) The ticket BUG: Watched flag automatically cleared when scanning, can’t set or unset - Plex Players / Smart TVs - Plex Forum has a link to a video that illustrates it happening on both clients (and explicitly not happening on plex web).

I can confirm the same issue. The little yellow progress bar disappears as you move the selection over the items. Progress is not actually reset but the progress bars each disappear one by one once selected.

Same issue here as well. Is not only on my LG TV but the SAMSUNG version too. Yellow progress bar disappears when an item is selected.

I can’t reproduce but some others on our QA team have been able to. I don’t have any ETA for a fix.

Happens on my 2024 LG TV as well

Been happening for quite some time on mine as well. Scrolling over a movie or show removes the checkmark. It will reappear once you leave the app and return.

I see the same problem on all my LG Smatr TVs.

I believe a new version rolled out that fixed this; I can now use Mark Watched/Unwatched properly, and the Watched check doesn’t disappear when passing over a title. This appears fixed on both HTPC and LG WebOS.

Yes, it works fine for me as well.

The new version of the LG TV app fixed the problem.
