Samsung Plex App - Episode watched indicator (checkmark) disappearing when brought into focus

This only started happening recently - Using the Samsung Plex app, when browsing through content, if a ‘watched’ item with the checkmark is brought into focus while scrolling side-to-side, the checkmark will disappear, and the items will no longer show the ‘watched’ checkmark. Similarly, items that show an orange progress bar under ‘continue watching’ – the bar will disappear.

This is very confusing when browsing through episodes in a series because it is easy to lose track of what has been ‘watched’ until you leave the series and re-enter again.

I can provide video of this happening if needed.

Same here since a few days ago. App latest update is from January 2024 so it not that…

I’m having a similar issue

From the Plex home screen, if a video is partially watched, focusing/highlighting on the video will cause the yellow bar to disappear.

If I then go into the series, the same thing happens. It will initially show a Resume button, before changing to Play

If I then Play, it will actually Resume properly. So it’s just an iritating UI bug

The two issues appear related. The “watch later” flag disappearing is actually more of a problem, because it prevents the user from toggling the flag as well. I can only use plex web to modify that flag now, which makes watching TV shows out of order really frustrating.

@OttoKerner has been closing threads related to this issue without any reasons given; Otto, is there a master thread we should be consulting for this issue?

I am also am having this problem, can’t mark anything as unwatched, have to go to the web to change from watched to unwatched.

Same issue for me. Seems to be isolated to my Samsung TVs. They are both running the most recent Plex version (from Jan 2024). Newest server update (1.40.5.8854) doesn’t seem to address this.

Same here on my LG C1. Very confusing and only related to the LG, on my PC through Web Player everything is working fine. I updated the PLEX LG App just few days ago, seems this was the cause.
