From a web page, Windows Plex app, roku app or android phone app, I can go to live tv and then click a show that is recording and then it pops up an option to watch the channel live, or from the beginning of the program if it is being recorded. Once an option is clicked, the requested option starts playing. On my Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2019), the option disappears after selection and then goes back to the guide. There is clearly something wrong with the Android-TV Plex app when it relates to live tv. I can’t seem to get any live tv program to play. Once the show has finished, and the recording is complete and moved to a video folder, it plays normally.
I’m running this from a Synology NAS wtih two HD Homerun tuners. Live tv tuner video plays just fine from the HDHome run android tv app.
If anyone knows a way to make this work on android tv, please let me know.
