We have at least one other thread with more temp solutions, until Plex developers release a fix to the Android TV Plex app.

Same issue. Plex support, please release a fix asap! it seems that we no longer get the play from start/play live message window when starting a stream that is being recorded, or used by another plex user.

Fix had been pushed in the latest Android beta

I’m experiencing the same issue with my android phone running the latest stable Plex app from Play Store and my Google Chromecast 4K with Google TV.

I am trying the beta version of the Plex Android app now that was mentioned in this thread.
