How do you record from the Android TV app?

For some reason, I can’t figure out how to start recording a show while watching it or from the guide. I am using the Nvidia Shield Android TV app.

I thought this option existed before…

It’s gone with the “last” EPG update…for some reason and no one gives an explanation… :-/

Good to know it wasn’t just me that noticed this recently. It is the same on the Android app on my phone. Not sure why its not there, I agree I think it was an option in the past. Hopefully the devs will bring it back. There are some other quirky things with the Android app, but will post on that elsewhere.

I found it… go back, back again and again until you get to the point that you can launch emby. Launch emby and use that from now on. I loved Plex, and paid for a lifetime pass but I think I am done with it for good now. I’d like my money back as it’s just not functional. But ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

I’m using MediaPortal just for TV, still so much better than Plex… :-/

My wife wanted to hit record last night while watching “A Wonderful Life” she asked me what button did she press. I couldn’t, it doesn’t exist! (Nvidia Shield Plex app). WTF!!! The Roku has it in the OSD!
Yes yes yes I know you can schedule a recording, there are so many articles on that I get dizzy but that isn’t what I wanted to do. I miss WMC so very much, it had the basics that 99% of users used.

I am seeing others talk about this as " Watch Live TV On Android TV Even Faster With The Latest Plex Update"

But yes, not being able to record the show you are watching is a nuisance. I know no one from Plex every responds to these messages, but can I ask when the feature will return?

PS: it’s not just the android TV app it’s also the android app itself. I just looked at Plex on my iPad and there was clearly a record button available

Got a new Shield for Christmas. It’s faster but the UI just sucks as compared to Roku. Ughh. Why can it be standardized?

Seriously though, is there anywhere we can actually get in touch with the devs besides complaining here?
