That said, my issue is as follows…
When I select multiple movies and add them to a collection (whether that collection be newly created during this operation or to an already-existing collection), the media is added but the “collection” tag in each added movie is not “locked”. The net result of this is that eventually they will all fall out of the collection over time as Plex does whatever it does to update/maintain itself.
I can add them one by one, which locks the field, but this is extremely cumbersome when dealing with multiple movies.
I’m not sure it’s logical not to set the field as locked when it’s updated via either method, so I was hoping that someone could either a) correct this “flaw” or b) educate me on what I’m doing wrong.
