BUG: NVIDIA Shield transcoded media rewind

Server Version#: 4.57.4 - Ubuntu VM.
Player Version#:8.19.3.26473

The issue:
-On NVIDIA SHIELD PRO 2020.

  • Playing transcoded content, in my case h264 to h264 with subtitles (has to be transcoded because of the subtitles).
  • Within last 5-3-0 minutes of the episode.
  • Pressing rewind button (by 10 seconds) or rewinding via scratch by 10+ seconds.
  • Picture and audio freezes, will not forward, rewind or unpause.
  • UI is still responsive.
  • Only resolution is go back to episodes menu and restart episode.
    –Does not happen with non-transcoded media.

To my understanding SHIELD caches 3-5 minutes of the (transcoded) stream. If I try to rewind during end credits (cached on the SHIELD) stream freezes and will not unpause forward or rewind. Does not happen in the middle of the episode.

I assume that there is a bug when Player tries to go back to content cashed on the SHIELD and something goes wrong. Either it misses the cache and\or tries go back to the server, but since its the end of the episode, server already marked transcoded stream as complete and doesn’t have it any more, something along those lines.
