PLEX server version: 1.41.0.8994

Shield Android TV SW Version: 9.1.1
Plex for Android Version 10.23.0.1614

I’ve had this problem in the past so I previously loaded and used the last version that worked. However, Plex got updated on my Shield for some reason so this issue is back for me and I figured I’d report the bug again.

Problem(s):

  1. If I try to start an episode in the middle of a playlist it takes me to the page showing me the season of that tv show instead of just starting the playlist from that episode.
  2. If the next episode on the playlist is not in the show’s current season, it does not play that episode. It plays some other episode. Cases include Doctor Who, where specials (season 0) are injected between various points throughout the series, and Star Trek TNG, DS9, and Voyager have overlapping seasons.

I suspect you can troubleshoot this by making a temporary playlist that has one episode from multiple shows and see if you get the same errors.

Here is a link to my original bug report from back in the day in case that helps at all. It has been a year or two.

Thanks for listening.

I’ve got this issue as well, but I first noticed it with music.

When I open a music playlist and then start it from a song, it queues the album rather than the playlist.

I’ve tested the behaviour on iOS and Web and it works as expected on those platforms.
