What PMS version are you using…
I’m running Version 1.18.6.2368…
Every version after that has caused me problems with the Fire TV 4K sticks…
Mainly Freezing…
I had created a thread with every version showing it hanging…

So you think it’s the PMS ?
But why is it working on all other devices?
The PMS version I am running is: 1.18.3.2129.

I have had such trouble with Plex and the FireTV 4k Stick since I upgraded to the FireTV 4k Stick a few months after it was released so I have been dealing with this for awhile. I believe the FireTV 4k Stick was released in October 2018. 7.XX.X.XXXXX versions of the app seem to just freeze so I downgraded to a 6.12.X.XXXXX version of the app and now the app doesn’t freeze but my PMS crashes instead. I want it fixed period but I am not even having any success with finding a temporary workaround.
Hello,
tried the latest Beta:
8.0.0.17234

Hello,
I was roaming the forum and found this post:
After reading the github threat I was almost certain I had the same problem.
So I checked my different TS files with TS DOCTOR.
Sadly, in my case, the playback problem don’t have anything to do with the bt709 color space.
All files actually have that color space. But some play and others don’t.

Hello,
just found this thread:
And tried the version given there, hoping it might also fix “my” problem.
Sadly the behaviour didn’t improve. Video still starts, freezes after a few seconds and audio keeps on playing.
Log file is here:

Hi
We have 3 fire sticks with the same problem, hope it gets fixed quickly
Hello,
I tried the latest Beta:
Plex for Android 8.2.0.18187-beta
The issue persists still.

It’s an issue with Amazon TV stick 4K not Plex - it does the same for all interlaced content - see this thread: Live TV still freezes for certain content on Fire TV 4K
Right now, I’ve enabled only standard definition channels and I get no freezes. Of course, we wall want this to be resolved to allow > SD content to work.
I am seeing problems with everything… not just live tv. Players version 6.12.0.3239 and earlier work without issue for me.
This issue with fire stick still happens on my 3 fire sticks
anybody got any answers or do i just forget about the fire stick,VERY disappointed with
with the way we are not receiving any help from PLEX
Hello,
I thought after such long time, I give it another try. Well…lets say…the behaviour…changed!
But sadly did not improve.
I tried kepler-armv7a-amazon-fireExo-8.3.0.18912-14279def.apk
And now, if I try to play a video, which would freeze in the past, the video does not even start. I just see the first picture and no sound is playing. And the time does not run.
So the screen shows “play” but picture is standing still, no audio playing and the position in time does not change.
Attached are the logs:
