since i got this new tv i noticed that player not working properly, meaning if i use the pointer on the remote to select media.
What happen is if i select media and try to press play it jumps to a different library like music or TV or other library
Were you able to figure out any work arounds to this? This is making Plex on my TV unwatchable. Every time I try to play something it just redirects to a different library. and I have to spend 15-20 minutes bouncing around until i can finally get it to play. something.

This has been going on with me for a while now. I also have some insight for the developers that may help point to the underlying cause. The problem occurs because the part of UI that controls the actions of the pointer assumes the left menu is always open, regardless of what may actually appear on the screen.
As a result, if the menu is minimized and you try to click one of the first media items on the left of the row, the UI thinks you are making a selection on the open menu, which because of the layout on my Plex is going to be one of the media libraries, rather than the media I want to open.
The two “workarounds” I’ve found that work are to either 1) make sure the far left menu is wide open before making selections of any media (which is tricky as it always wants to close), or 2) not use the pointer but toggle onto the media item I want using the < > buttons then select it while highlighted and the pointer is not illuminated.
I looked for an option in the settings to force the left menu to always stay open, which would’ve also worked around the problem but couldn’t find it. If there such an option let me know.
this makes the TV and pointer remote, useless
if is not possible to make the pointer to work on a app then bloody disable it, is funny that is work very nice in with apple TV app, or other app, but not with plex, f*** sake, how long dot it take to fix something ? is now almost 6 months with no fix
I was just doing some more troubleshooting and discovered when I change the Theme the problem went away. I got excited until I closed and reopened Plex and the problem returned.
I should have been more clear with how to do workaround #1 earlier. Just first hit the left tab until the menu opens then use the pointer click the media item.
latest update is causing stuttering on some media on 1080 direct play, i did try on other devices like roku and windows, and there is working fine
