I believe this started happening with the new update on 12-15-2020. I am now running into an issue when using the web app remotely where videos will start playing for a few seconds and then start buffering indefinitely. I’ve attached the logs after recreating the issue.
I have the player quality set to original. I’ve transcoded all my media to a constant bit-rate that fits out of my upstream bandwidth before putting it on the server. I’ve streamed this same media before many times at original quality without issue. I can also stream the same media on original quality using the Samsung TV app at the same remote site without issue. When using the web app, if I pull up the dashboard, the bandwidth graph looks like it keeps stopping and starting (see attached pic). It doesn’t do that when streaming using the Samsung app.
I’m using the snap version on Ubuntu 20.04 server amd64
I reverted back to the previous snap version (server 1.21.1.3766 & player 4.43.4) and it seemed to fix the issue. It would appear the problem is something in the latest version.
When using the latest version, the issues shows up on both Chrome and Firefox, on multiple Windows computers, using WiFi or Ethernet.
It also seems OK when playing lower bit-rate video (~3 Mbps), but gets stuck infinitely buffering on higher bit-rate video (~8.5 Mbps).
