Bug: Problem Renaming Collection

I found a bug when trying to rename a collection.

I created a collection and added it to some TV shows. Later I decided to rename the collection so I went the collection and edited to change both the Name and Sort by name. So far so good.

I went to add the renamed collection to some more TV shows and only the old name existed in the collection picker. So I created a new collection with the new name. This created a second collection in the picker and seemed to cause a conflict of some sort in library view.

When I went back to the full TV Show library view all the shows that had been added to the original collection were missing from the view, except for the one where I created the new collection name.

I don’t have the option enabled to hide shows that are in a collection. So some kind of conflict was happening with the renamed collection and the new collection of the same name.

Ultimately I had to remove the newly created collection from that last TV show and delete the new collection from the library. That caused all the other shows to show up again. I then went in and deleted the old collection completely and created a new one with the right name.

Sure did. Not sure how I got “categories” stuck in my head. Fixed.

The latest web app version 4.2.1 doesn’t “dissapear” all the shows, but it still isn’t working right.

Try this:

  1. Create and add a collection called “Scifi” (or whatever name) to some show.
  2. Select five more shows and add the “Scifi” collection tag to those.
  3. Go to the Scifi collection and rename it to “Space TV Shows” or some such.
  4. Notice the main library view shows the renamed collection six shows in it.
  5. Edit one show you originally tagged and see it still showing the “Scifi” collection tag.
  6. Try adding “Space TV Shows” to that show, it will require you to create a new collection tag.
  7. Create the new collection called “Space TV Shows” and save it.
  8. Back in the main library view, notice the “Space TV Shows” collection now only has a single show in it instead of 6 that were in there before.
