I’m not sure if this is a bug, at least it’s not a major one but it is annoying.
Plex won’t trigger refresh rate switch when going fullscreen if media is already playing, I really need to get to fullscreen THEN start my video.
I can’t count the times I’ve started a video, gone fullscreen, noted it wasn’t correct refresh rate, stopped video, restarted video…
Would it be possible to fix or improve this behaviour ?
This is very intentional. Changing refresh rates results in a display blanking out for a short period of time (depending on the display). Additionally, it often causes the audio device (over HDMI) to disappear and then reappear. So while it may seem like it should change the refresh rate during playback, this is fraught with problems.
But it doesn’t matter if the media is paused and “folded” on the bottom, which I’m pretty sure in this case refresh rate switch wouldn’t cause any HDMI issue…
Anyway, as I said it’s not major issue, just very annoying. Do what you think is right.
