Noticed the preview thumbnails going out of sync on a couple of movies now and it’s not something I’ve ever seen before so it’s probably the recent changes due to issue #10455.

Dev, since it’s doesn’t happen every time, you’ll have to keep testing new videos until you see it. It’s most definitely there and gets quite pronounced. I just counted a scene where the thumb was 45 seconds early after 37 minutes of a 2 hour and 16 minute movie.

Server Version#: 1.18.1.1973 and perhaps back to 1.18.0.1846
Player Version#: n/a - it’s a server issue as it can be seen on different clients

Can I get some acknowledgment that the right people have seen this?

Did you replace the file with a different version? The BIF does not get recreated if you do this so it could be out of sync.

If it was the same length it wouldn’t matter but no, it was a new file.

More info…

Deleting bif, uninstalling latest version, installing 1.17.0.x and using that to recreate bif produces a good bif. Deleting bif again, upgrading to latest beta and recreating bif again produces an out of sync bif.

Since October 2nd which is when 1.18 was put out, I’ve generated 120 bifs and noticed it on 2 titles. Of course, I haven’t tried to finding a scene on all 120 so it probably happens far more frequent than once every 60 videos.
