A few videos (all concerts) have this behavior. They play fine with AC3 or stereo, but stutter as soon as I select the DTS-HD track. This is pass-through to my receiver for all codecs.
This is a known issue with Plex and Emby as they both use exoplayer. The deficiency exists with content that uses DTS-HD Master Audio with 96kHz or 192kHz. Google needs to solve this issue deep in the AndroidTV OS. If you play the same content with Gallery player or KODI, it will not drop video frames. Google, Nvidia and Plex are all aware of the issue with exoplayer.
Thanks, have been driving myself crazy and avoiding DTS as much as possible, but sometimes it’s the only thing on offer.
Can someone recommend another SmartTV platform (not Android based) that doesn’t have this problem? I’m about to buy a 65" OLED, so if this persists will avoid Sony (sadly).
I’ve been trying to get help with a similar issue for about a week now. I finally found this thread. I have 2 videos with 96 KHz sampling rate and they show significant video stuttering… I wish it would be fixed but I suppose it’s not a priority. Don’t know if it helps to up vote a bug somewhere?
That’s great news.
If I install the BETA, will it automatically get updated when the final comes out on google play or am I going to break the automatic updates?
