BUG - Shield - latest Beta - aspect ratio SD wrong (squashed) when enabling auto resolution switching

Playing SD content on the latest beta on both my Shield Pro 2019 and Shield 2017 results in a squashed picture when switching on resolution matching.

There’s a similar thread with discussion here, too:

@Volts
Thanks. any update on this?

Best regards

Nope! I just noticed the similarity in the topics, thought you’d want to go commiserate and share notes with other people having a similar issue. :slight_smile:

Not heard anything at all. The fix that works for me is to just switch to the older player when I am watching SD DVD content. It’s annoying but I can live with it until they hopefully fix it.

I haven’t updated my other SHIELD yet because of this issue. I only updated this one so quickly as I wanted to try the HDR on SDR TV fix Nvidia rolled out. That seems to work great for me so now I can watch HDR content with corrected colours on my SDR 4K TV. Just can’t watch DVD content properly instead (without messing around with settings). :wink:

Thx Ekomax

Please stop pinging so many Plex staff/employees. As I’ve mentioned before, we’re aware of the issue and are tracking it internally. At this point in time, I don’t have any further updates.

@DaveBinM
Pardon me!
Ok, but after almost a month without reaction it would be nice to hear if a problem can be solved or not. i do not mean to be rude. but some update would be nice. nothing more nothing less.

sorry for my bad english

best regards

It can be solved, and is tracked internally. However, I don’t have any further news on this issue at the moment.
