BUG: "Trending" appearing on HOME with "Discover" Disabled

Depends on if you think Plex is lying or not.

If Plex honors their privacy option at:
https://www.plex.tv/about/privacy-legal/privacy-preferences/
then playback data should not be collected, and same for the “Sync” watch state data. If those are both off, then I agree, no playback data should be reported to Plex.

If they are telling the truth, then Plex just has an IF statement saying whether or not to display the menu.

I honestly, don’t expect to have Plex to somehow rip out all the Discover code because I set an option to Disabled (though I wish they had never added the coded in the first place). And, so far I haven’t yet seen evidence that is strong enough to me that Plex is capturing information that they said they are not. I would also agree with many others, that data collection should be Opt-in, not Opt-out.

Dokuro, may have seen more, but from Plex’s response, it appears that his report concerned Plex too.

These are back again even with all disabled on Plex Web. I cannot get rid of them. They are not present in the Plex Windows app.

Is this the local or the hosted web app?
The local one can be older, and thus still contain the bug.

Probably… with two month on it’s “age clock”, the bug should by now be fixed for local PMS Plex Web’s, too. Don’t you think?

No. The local web app is only for initial setup and in the case of an internet outage. There is no good reason to use it all the time.
Stability is paramount, hence why it gets updated rather infrequently.

there are plenty good reasons

surely removing bugs is paramount regardless is local or web based - especially ones related to topic of “privacy”.
