I have the “Generate Intro Video Markers” library option set to “as a scheduled task”. However, the server is scanning for intros immediately after new videos are added to relevant libraries when those libraries are updated/scanned. This can lead to very heavy additional cpu and disk usage at a time when I don’t want that (while gaming, tuner is recording 4 different shows, etc).
If it helps, I had tried setting the intro detection option to “as a schedule task and when media is added”. When I saw the performance impact, I set the option back to “as a schedule task”. So it is possible that this might be a problem with saving the choice when it is changed.
