(Bug?) Wrong default audio language despite correct profile setting (web player, all apps)

I’m using a Synology NAS and I read in the past that version is not a 64bits, so we should ignore it. Because we update again, it is ok I imagine?

If I don’t want to loose all my settings, etc, do I simply need to take a backup of the /volume1/Plex folder?

Sorry, I can’t help you with NAS. Have you considered the other option?

Finally I updated the database and it is working.

Glad, I found this thread. Have the same problem and it drives me nuts.
My own server works fine and plays the right language. However, when I watch via my friends server it always chooses English instead of German as default. His server works fine with all other remote users. They all have German set as default and it plays in German. Looking forward to the fix.
Question regarding that: what do you think, where lies the problem? On my server pr on his? Which needs to be updated?

His. If he is up to it, he can edit his server’s database directly according to your language preferences.

@OttoKerner, question.
Does the value in the our server’s database get updated at some point from Plex’s database (since this is a global account setting and not set on a server per server bases by the user)?

Yes, as soon as he modifies his language prefs in his account setting.
As I said: modifying the database is a workaround, not a fix.

Thanks for this thread, I think I might have the same issue, maybe someone can confirm.

My Admin account, and server side I have set default language , and subs. It works fine when I choose a movie.

But when my friends and my test account ( which is not admins ) chooses a movie, it’s not using the Language settings I have chosen on the server side.

I’m pretttttty sure it used to work before, but now it doesn’t.

An update has been released as a beta version. All users with a Plex Pass can install it now.
Users without a Plex Pass need to wait until this version is made ‘publicly available’.

Affected users might have to toggle their language selections back and forth once, in their personal account settings https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account

Pretty excited by the seemingly “new” disable transcoding button. Hope it’s a server/client all at once feature as many of us expect for years now
