Seems like a few bugs got introduced again the latest android tv beta that was not there in the first 9.29 beta version.
Removing items from continue watching row on plex home screen crashes the app, and it force closes on its own.
If you were to go into a tv show and mark episodes as watched. That watched status does not automatically appear with the check mark unless you go to another library and back into the tv library again.
If you have multiple version of tv show or movies in separate libraries and pin the libraries to plex home screen. The continue watching row will have multiple copies of the tv show or movie, and if you were to select on of the duplicate item on the continue watching row and select remove from continue watching, it removes all version from continue watching row instead of the 1 copy.
For example I have 1 tv show in HD library and 4k library, both would show up in continue watching row. If I were to remove HD version and keep just 4k version, both versions would be removed. The previous 9.29 beta build did not have this issue and would remove just the HD version.
@marekszulik it happens to whatever I choose. If i choose comedy, it would be a blank page. And if I choose another category, also blank page. I know it was working before, a couple of previous betas it was working well. Now no longer works and shows a blank page.
@marekszulik Wondering if you happened to have an update for bug 3 with multiple items of the same movie and TV show appearing in continue watching row ans removing 1 removes all other copies? The only bug that is remaining
To add to bug 3, I believe another bug is related to the change - my clients on 1080p TVs no longer correctly select the supported version when two are available. I have 1080p and 4k versions in one library, clients that support up to 1080p now try to default to the 4K version, forcing the server to transcode. Manually selecting 1080p works normally, however with TV episodes it doesn’t keep the selection when playing the next episode in the series.
Yes, I’m also seeing that on my Fire TV 4Ks with version 9.29 or later. No issues with 9.28 and earlier.
BUT, I don’t see it happening all the time.
With a Fire TV 4k connected to a 1080p SDR screen and a TV Series having 4K DoVi/HDR and 720p SDR versions I see the following things happen (at the same device and the same episodes):
The 720p version is selected (and direct played)
The 4K HDR version is selected (and direct plays, locally tonemapped by the Fire TV 4K)
The 4K HDR version is transcoded to 720p (!!) SDR
What puzzles me the most and make me smell a really strange bug here, is the transcoding to 720p (like the existing version) instead of 1080p, which would be expected.
Another really bad thing: IF the video is transcoded, Plex also needlessly transcodes the audio from EAC3 to OPUS, killing Atmos that way.
Hello I am new to Plex and don’t understand how to created new forum post. Was hoping someone could help me here. I have the app installed on Firestick.
