Buying Plex Pass is the most stupid decision

Instead of EMBY, PLEX was chosen for convenience. However Plex gave me a very bad viewing experience.
It all wokrs well but there is no truehd 7.1 and you need choose ‘image only’ when you use ass subtitles.
To enjoy TrueHD 7.1, I bought an Xbox series X and all kinds of silly problems occur.
When the movie contains pgs subtitle, encoding…
When the movie is 60Hz, encoding…
When the movie meet all criteria, encoding…
All you soft guys please stop maintaining the plex and go out to encode.

Plex relies on the hardware and client that is being used. As far as I know, Xbox has never been a great platform in the past and I am not sure about the newer XBox. I have a Xbox One and it never worked well. I have a Nvidia Shield Pro now and have had no issues since. It has played just about anything I throw at it including 7.1 and subtitles.

Was emby any better? Assuming that’s the points of the rant, works with but doesn’t work with :interrobang:

When you look up specs on the XBOX there’s a lot of features it includes but next to that feature it says (in games) I think you are asking Plex to do some things your device isn’t capable of

i cannot believe that the xbox is not capable to play 4k hdr,
people have success with kodi and emby from what i heard
so it works

Thought it was a TrueHD rant?

Seems like emby has issues with x265 4K. Let alone TrueHD

Kodi…

Again maybe not entirely a Plex thing…
