Cable Card Tuning Issues

Channel number/Name: FoxNews, Discovery, and History channel.

So I have been using a cable card with Plex for many, many years. In my last home, I had verizon and a cable card and I was able to use the Plex DVR with minimal issues. Now I have moved and using COX Cable with a Tuning Adapter and it works great with the HD Home Run TV software but when I scan channels using the Plex DVR it says all the channels except for 40 are protected and skipped by Plex. Again it works great with the HD TV Application but the Plex DVR says the channels are protected. I did not have this problem with Verizon, is there maybe a work around with this? Hope this question makes sense. Many thanks in advance for any help that can be provided. My Plex Server is a Windows 11 box.

If it says protected that means COX has DRM set to copy once. Plex doesn’t support DRM on cable. The only PC DVR to do so was Windows Media Center.

Verizon (like most former Charter markets) didn’t implement DRM on very many channels.

So bottom line is you’re SOL.
