Camera upload was working until a couple of weeks ago, so when I went to check just now I got a weird error message:
Does the camera upload feature only work for one phone? If I have a second, do I have to just choose the one phone?
If I want to upload photos from 2 phones, how do I upload so that I can browse on Plex?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Rod
I have the exact same issue on the phones that I am using. Is this the result of the server upgrade os is this the cause of something else?
Android camera upload has been buggy on my Nexus 6P too.
I’ve been restarting the Synology nas plex server to partially help.
I went to tools/apps/plex/storage/clear cache on the phone.
Uninstalled Plex app , reinstalled from Google store.
Only worked to a point, then all photo upload halted from phone with a few uploads incomplete.
This issue seems common as of late and is very aggravating.
I finally created a new Library folder on the Plex Server and managed to kick start the phote/video uploads.
Now have dupicates stuck into the new folder.
We have two seperate Plex users here with two different cell phones being backed up to the Nas via Plex, no troubles until lately…
I had the same issue for a few weeks, there’s another thread about this issue that’s been open for a while:
https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/297593/camera-upload-error-have-null-select-the-server/p3
The update for the mobile app that I installed yesterday seems to have fixed the issue for me. Some people said that photos taken since the problem started didn’t upload, but all of mine were fine. I had to re-select my upload library, and the option to “continue” not “start over”.
App version I’m running today is 6.11.3.3147
Thanks for the update.
I have seen that thread, however the current problem is not the “'null user” message but an outright freeze on the last few photos to upload = no new photos will backup to plex server.
Using android 8.1.0 and app version .314, plex server updated and restarted multiple times and still no browse feature and phone uploads freeze.
I now regret the lifetime purchase, no buyer wants to waste time looking through a maze of issues on a forum to correct a problem.
I only wanted a backup and remote solution to view personal photos and short videos, it was good when it worked.
Synology android photo backup app was a complete fail too and the reason I switched to Plex Lifetime.
After clearing cache and uninstalling/reinstalling Plex on Android phone + stopping Plex on Synology nas and reinstalling/rebooting the problems have been amended as of this morning.
If Plex developers are working on the program and creating some temporary conflicts, a small announcement would avert a great deal of anguish, especially when dealing with customers personal/business photo collections.
OP, I hope your null user message has been sorted out.
*Edit- 10:00 a.m. Plex is broken from phone and PC devices to server, while trying to play photos.
Tiresome.
