I have been a plex lifetime member for years now, I have NEVER been able to get plex upload to work, I have had at least 3 different Android phones now and no workie. I check this forum often and I’ve NEVER seen a fix. What gives?
Photo upload works fine for me. I keep my phone and my wife’s phone photos uploaded. What version of server you running? What platform is it running on? The biggest thing I had to work through is to ensure that each device uploads to a separate location and that the Plex server has full access to the folder. I am running PMS on a Linux box and use the Android client on our phones for reference.
I have the latest version of plex server working on a windows 10 PC. I’m using plex on my Android phone.
So all you need then is to ensure that the photos library is on an open/unrestricted area of a mounted disk. If it is in the C:\Program Files area, that is restricted.
I got it to work. It was a file folder thing.
I have the same issue. It was a file folder thing for what? The andriod? The server? If it was the server was it the photo location or the media sever location? What did you do to fix it?
For me it was an issue on the server side. I had to ensure that the server user (plex on Linux) could write to the location. I am not sure what user Plex runs as on Windows, but the issue will still be the same.
@Matr1x ensure that the folder specified in server Settings > Manage > Libraries > Mobile Photos > (Edit) > Add Folder exists.
This probably doesn’t affect you, but in my case the upload folder is on an external drive and sometimes when connecting USB drives before the photo storage drive, the drive letters change which makes it inaccessible to Plex with a specific drive letter. That’s bit me a few times, but the fix is simple, i.e. make sure Plex has access to the folder specified in settings.
Finally, if nothing seems to work for you, collect logs and dig through them. You will see errors that will point you to a potential problem.
