I have a couple of thousand movies organized by collection. Sometimes I’ll add the movie to plex and forget to tag it. Is there a way of searching my movies in Plex for those without a collection tag?

It can export information from the Plex database into CSV files.
There are pre-determined reports or you can create a custom report.
I created a custom report with the fields Title and Collections. Here’s a snippet:
"Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Kops"|"Abbott & Costello Collection"
"Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy"|"Abbott & Costello Collection"
"The Accountant"|"N/A"
"Ad Astra"|"N/A"
