Two different iPhones, two different iPads all updated to latest iOS and latest Plex app and can no longer see my libraries. PCs and Macs and Apple TVs on my same network are fine.
What version of PMS do you have installed?
The first thing I would try is log out of app and then login.
Secondly have your shut down your devices and powered back up?
With your issue unfortunately we are unaware if your other apps on your iOS are connecting, so a bit more detail would be appreciated. What do you see with Plex apps? Are you referring to Home page or are these Libraries available via the Menu at bottom of display?
If that is the case you may need to select any Library header, then selected All Libraries, add you Favourites, then navigate back to your home Page.
Unlikely to be the issue, as it was working before the app update, but worth a shot:
Settings / Privacy & Security / Local Network
Make sure it is turned on for Plex. If not this will block network access and could be the cause of your issues.
Failing that, agree with @SE56, logging out of the Plex app and back in might either work, or at least give you some errors that might help identify what is going on.
I have the same issue, Iāve checked the settings mentioned above and Local network is allowed for Plex.
Also tried logging out and back in as suggested but thatās made no difference, I still get the message telling me I need a subscription to remote stream despite Iphone and Ipad being on the same Local network as all my other devices (TV/PC) and theyāre all working as expected.
Might be two different issues here, I read the OP as saying he canāt see the libraries (ie they donāt show up), where the challenge you are having is that you can see the libraries however canāt play videos (both equally annoying Iām sure).
Sorry, yes you are correct.
Since I posted here, something appears to have changed as itās now working as expected on both my IPad and my phone on local network. How bizarre, the only thing Iāve done is start setting up jellyfin, which I now have to delete ffs lol.
Thanks all for the suggestions and sorry for the lack of detail.
Client version on my Phone is 2025.15.0 (1053). PMS server is running 1.41.6.9685. Phone iOS is 18.4.1.
I tried all methods of jiggling the handle:
-Restarted phone
-Signed out then back into my Plex account on phone
-Deleted app on phone- reinstalled and signed back in
-Verified and toggled Settings / Privacy & Security / Local Network on phone several times
-Restarted PMS
-all other streaming services work properly on my phone and nothing is disabled in network settings
On my phone, when choosing libraries at the bottom, there is a full screen āNo Libraries Foundā message (ā¦looks like you donāt own or have access to any serversā¦)
Choosing select Library at top left only displays links to Plexamp and Plex Photos and nothing else.
After all of this I discovered my wife has an iPad with a very out of date OS (16.6.1) and Plex app version (8.17) which can access my libraries just fine. I updated her iOS to the latest (18.4.1) and the libraries are still showing up just fine.
All of this seems to clearly point to the client version of Plex and not the iOS version or network settings. I only wish there was a way to back off Plex versions without jailbreaking my iOS devices. Iām not willing to prove this by installing the latest Plex client on this iPad since Iām sure it will have the same problem.
Any way to escalate this to the support team? Thanks!
Oh, and I also reset the cache in the client settings on all of the affected devices (two phones, two iPads) with no change in behavior.
I donāt know if this will help you, but this is how I solved it:
Thanks for the suggestion kkh365, but I renamed my device to something very simple and it made no difference after signing out/restarting everything/signing back in.
Iām met with āthe new Plex experienceā which in my case is the removal of library access. The promo says so long hamburger menu- needs to add so long libraries ![]()
Who created this complete disaster of an app? It is completely unnavigable. The app opens to a song that wonāt play and I cannot access my music library. At all.
This is garbage. Please fix ASAP.
You will need to use PlexAmp to access your music libraries and the Plex Photos app for your photos.
They need to bring back the old app this one sucks
Just saw there was a new client version of Plex available on iOS 2025.16.0 (1068).
No change- No Library RIP!
Iām new to using Plex for playing music on my network to other devices. Loaded PMS and created a music library. But, I ran into the same issue as others - no libraries show up on IOS in the Plex App and none of the fixes work - log out/restart/log in, kill your favorites and re-create (I didnāt have any favorites), make sure IOs has network on for Plex. (I only have the music library, no other media. My resolution: I took a chance and downloaded PlexAmp App and when I logged on, it sees my music library just fine. PlexAmp includes a lot of features that I wonāt use, but until thee Plex/IOs No Libraries Found issue is resolved. Iāll go this route (until I get frustrated with all the āextraā stuff being in the way).
