Can no longer configure local Plex server on Mac

Server Version#: 4.69.1
Player Version#: 4.69.1
I installed the Mac Plex Server. I accidentally “claimed” my local server I guess and there was no way to unassociate it. I deleted that account and now I cannot configure my local server under my correct account. I want to server from my local hard disk. Yikes. None of Plex’s troubleshooting tips have helped. Thanks.

Delete the Server off the account it’s currently associated with

Make sure to SIGN OUT of the web app once you have delete the Server off plex.tv.

Attempt to go to

http://127.0.0.1:32400/web

And then also SIGN OUT if your account is associated with the wrong account.

Return to

http://127.0.0.1:32400/web

And it should attempt to ask for you to login into Plex.tv again.

Use your CORRECT EMAIL/LOGIN associated with the correct account you with to use.

It should login into Plex.tv and alert you that there is a local server installed. It wants you to claim it. Click on the button to CLAIM your local installed server on the MAC and then that should be now associated with the proper Plex.tv account.

What does delete mean?

Did you delete the account via Plex Account Settings? Do you not have access to that previous email associated to that old account anymore? What does DELETE mean in your case?

Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in?

  1. Read above document.
  2. Stop Plex Media Server on your Mac.
  3. Perform the steps mentions in the Remove Certain Entries section. This will put your server into an unclaimed state.
  4. Start Plex Media Server.
  5. Claim it using desired account. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web or http://localhost:32400/web.
