How do I recover my Plex media, have access to Plex but personal media is not showing up or should I delete account and start over, thanks!
Deleting your account will do no good if you’re having trouble accessing your server.
First off… can you still access the server if you access it through the host’s local IP address? – if you’re on the same Mac, open http://127.0.0.1:32400/web, otherwise http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web
Is the PMS linked to your account? Keep in mind that resetting your account password and opting to sign-out all devices will also sign-out your PMS; you’ll have to reclaim it in order to access it from other devices linked to your account.
PLEX Server Problem on PMS machine

Domain (com.plexapp.plexmediaserver) not found.
Defaults have not been changed.
Restarted PMS and then Plex Web App
!
Finished it and then a can see all my libraries, but not available.

Then signed in to my Plex account - all libraries are gone, normal when not signed in.
Opened Settings/General to claim my server:.

There was a short message „Problems with connection to Plex and a spring circle. The it stopped and .

the server is visible in the devices list

After restarting PMS the settings list is reduced and not as normal:

What is the problem? From other devices with Plex App I have access but not from the Mac PMS is running. From iPhone, iPad an Apple TV I have access to that server, but also the Prologue app on iPhone cannot see this PMS.
In my opinion itcould be a problem with the Web App
kind regards
Stephan
A small correction to my previous post - on iPadOS I have also no access to the server. I guess it was after sign out/sign in to my PLex account.
– new information –
My Mac is actually named “MacProMojave”, even the PMS is using that name and in the device list too.
Plex on my iPhone is working with the PMS but with the old name “MacPro2008” with actual files uploaded a few days ago. On Apple TV it show the “MacProMojave” as PMS.
What would happen if I rename my Mac back to the old name? Should it work or will all access removed?
– new information –
changed the machine name back to the old one - now also iPhone has no access to the PMS. Only Apple TV box is still working.
FIXED - but with re-install PMS and restore from backup
Can you tell me how to reclaim my access? I have recently changed my password and opted to sign-out of all devices. Thanks for the help
Thanks, @tom80H. I have reset the password and followed the instruction, but I still cannot see my server. Attached is the screenshot of what it is showing on plex web. It has been more than 6 hrs I have spent to get my server back into plex. So lucky
so far.
Basic steps… are you on the same network/subnet and accessing the server using it’s local IP address?
e.g. http://127.0.0.1:32400/web if you’re on the same machine or http://[PMS IP address]:32400/web otherwise (no quick connect URLs, FQDNs or similar alternative addresses).
Yes, I am on the same network.
My server is still not being found, I get the following message when I try to locate my media server, can you help me out further, thanks!

Do you have any VPN installed on that machine (or any potential leftovers from a previous VPN setup)?
What version of PMS is installed on your Mac and have you verified it’s actually running?
No VPN running on my MAC and PMS 64 Bit latest version
