Can no longer share library?

I am really stuck, I have used Plex for the last 2 years with no issue and in the last 2 months it has stopped sharing. I’ve followed all the how to and forum posts and nothing has worked.

It now says Not available outside your network

Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network

I disable and then enable again but it lasts seconds. I then tried to do a manual port (not the best techy person here) and still nothing. I am guessing its from either a plex update or maybe norton anti virus from a guess. Any help would be very much appreciated! I’ve tried everything I could find in these forums so really at a loss

So… just to be sure I understand your issue:
This is not about failing to share with those friends but the lack of accessibility of your server from outside your home network?

Basic troubleshooting steps should be:

  1. Check if you can see/access your router’s public IP address using the specified TCP port (from the manual port forward you created on your router) from outside your home network. You can do this using a service like canyouseeme.org.

    • If you can see your router, this implies the remote access problem is between your router and the Plex Media Server (incl. both endpoints)
    • If you cannot see the router, this implies the issue is between “the internet” / your ISP and your router.
  2. Verify if your ISP is providing you with a routable/public IPv4 address. Some ISPs no longer give their customers IPv4 addresses at all; others will only give them private network IP addresses

To best honest I wasn’t sure what to call it or what the exact issue is - only share my library with my parents and they are less techy then me. They can no longer access it but from what I’m seeing on my end it’s definitely me not them as I will enable remote access which I would assume is access to my libraries externally, then I will either refresh or a few minutes later it saying remote access is not available and I’m pinpointing Plex or virus software due to both updating the approx same time it would no longer share.

Thanks for the above, going to follow step by step this afternoon and finger crossed, I’ve played around bit (deleted and re-added their access, tried to manually port etc) but no go, the above is very helpful.
