Can not access plexdata folder // mod edit: QNAP Database Corruption

Server Version#:QTS 5.2.0.2860
Player Version#:1.40.5.8921
I have corrupted plex database message and I was going to go into the plexdata and delete the database and rescan libraries to see if that helped. I can navigate to the plexdata folder and it comes up with the admin login and I use the same password as my access to the server and I am not allowed in. I reset my password and rebooted, still nothing. Kinda stuck.

Mod Edit: Add QNAP tag, details to subject. - @FordGuy61

@forg1

I can help but it’s probably best to do this on the phone and with remote desktop sharing.

Is it too late in the evening for that?

@ChuckPa you are amazing.

Not sure about letting someone I don’t know remote in, but I could get on the phone. What timezone are you in?

I am in EST/EDT time zone (southern Pa)

The easiest thing for you to do right now.

  1. Install 1.45.0 to get your QNAP icon back.
    – I will post a copy for you

  2. Then install, as it was released today, PMS 1.41.0.8992

This will give you 1.41.0 (buiild 8992) where I’ve removed the attempt to fix the Nvidia timing.

At NO point should you UNINSTAll PMS. Uninstall would erase your server. (how qnap works)

If you’re skilled with the shell and the vi text editor, I can talk you through the procedure. The only part you must be careful with is when you “cut” (like any text editor) the PMS block and then “paste” it at the end of the config file.

This is what restores the Nvidia + PMS relationship

As for PlexData — QNAP has largely removed functionality but if you are lucky, I can tell you how to create the equivalent and then have limited GUI access to Plex’s files.
