Server Version#:1.1.11
Player Version#: (latest on each device I tried)
server is running on a Beelink s12 pro with a das connected (two 14TB hdds running in raid 1) and a 240GB ssd in the beelink that acts as a cache pool for transcodes and downloads. The beelink is running Truenas ElectricEel-24.10.0.2 . As for internet, I have the server connected through a cat 6 cable, and get 1000 download and 100 upload, I have a manual port selected and the “can you see me” website is able to see the server, however despite all of this I am only able to stream at 240p remotely, otherwise it just loads forever. I have tried disabling relay, however the issue still persists. I am able to stream content locally without any issues (with or without transcoding). Has anyone had any similar issues? (also I don’t know if this helps, but sometimes when attempting to watch from a tv not all of the user profiles show up)
What information is showing in the “now playing” tile for that playback on the Plex server dashboard? Is the stream listed as Remote or Indirect?

Would you mind double-checking which exact version of PMS you have installed on the NAS? From what I can find, there was never a version 1.1.11 (just 1.1.4 and 1.2.1, which were both released in September and October of 2016 respectively; so I suspect there’s some typo or mix-up
)
oh shoot, sorry I wrote the version that truenas listed. The version of PMS is 1.41.3.9314
as for the “now playing”, it says remote
Hey, Any chance you’d be willing to help me resolve this issue, or at least point me in the direction of where I could find a way to fix this?
Thank You!
What did you mean by it’s only able to stream at 240p?
Is this the automatic quality you get or did you manually set/decrease the quality on the client until it started streaming?
Do you see this behavior in different clients or is this about a specific client (platform/version)?
Have you already checked the remote playback quality settings in the client? Have you applied any streaming quality restrictions in the remote access settings of your server?
Server logs might give some hint on why Plex might opt to go for this quality (if that’s the case). You could take a look at the Plex Media Server.log after attempting to stream a video remotely and look for lines with a MDE: prefix/label.
So, I just tried playing content remotely again and now it works! I was able to stream content at the original resolution without any issues from my phone. I guess one of the recent updates must have fixed what ever was going on. Thank you though for your help!
