I have other users that are using my account to connect to my plex server because they dont want to go through the plex signing up process. This means that when they watch a show, it shows up as watched for me. Is there a way to only keep track of watched progress accross devices that are on the same IP address?
Each user will have to sign up with there own plex account, this really shouldn’t be a issue, as its free and doesn’t take long to sign up.
Once the users are signed up, send a share invite request to each user, this will allow the server to keep track of each users watched status and so on.
PlexPy - install this to monitor your plex server, this will show you what users are currently on the server, as well as their ip’s they are connecting from. In network and out of network. It will show stats for a ton of stuff as well, like how many streams at once, top viewed show/movie and so on.
to answer your question: yes plex can keep track of watched and unwatched movies/shows both in and out of network, but again each user needs there own account. There is the Plex at home feature as well, but i believe this would be for in network, i could be wrong on that though.
