I have 4 Samsung TVs connected to the same network and they support the Plex app, I want to show the photos folder from my PC (connected to the same network also) in full screen and set the duration for photos (like each photoplay for 5 or 10 seconds) and loop the photos folder in these 4 TVs and when I add new or delete an old photo it automatically updates in screen without the need to go to each tv to do anything, can plex do that for me. and how I can do it and how much it will cost me
Plex cannot do that. Particularly not running unattended and starting up automatically and/or incorporating newly added pictures.
You are better off investigating solutions for “digital signage”.
I know Samsung sells customized screens for that. but of course they are not exactly cheap.
Either you add external playback devices, which support more sophisticated player software (maybe a NUC running Kodi) or you make concessions regarding the flexibility/comfort.
If you are going with external playback device, and you want all screens to be absolutely synchronous, it may be worth considering an SDI connection and signal distribution between the TVs. Converters between SDI and HDMI are slowly coming into price regions where they are worth considering for the semi-professional user. For longer cable runs it can be less costly/complex than HDMI, or even Ethernet. 10 meter coax are dirt-cheap, compared to HDMi, and coax can be customized by the end user.
thank you for your fast replay, in my case, I want a chip and easy-to-set-up solution if i set up and start the Plex app on each screen for the first time and these screens are always on (in case it is off one time, I need to reopen plex app again ) , and it is okay screens no need to be synchronous, the important if i add new or delete a photo to the folder it will automatic update in screen and if not what I can do to make it update
You can try to
- make a playlist of photos
- select that playlist on the tv and activate “repeat all”
But this won’t let you set the time for each picture.
And chances are that the TV will at one time decide that nobody has used it for hours and will switch itself off (or at least will activate its own screensaver).
So no, you cannot achieve what you want with Plex.
