I would like to know if somebody from Plex can help me.
I have the problem that online Cinema Trailers and extra material are not playing (There was a problem playing the item).
I have try in Plex Media Server (Windows 10 Home Ver. 1703 OS Build 15063.483) , Roku (OS 7.7) and Android (7.0) with no success.
Today I update to Plex Media Server 1.8.0 but I still can’t play online movie trailer and extra material.
What can be the problem.
Did you turn on the setting in the client? Here are the settings for Plex for Roku, do a Find for Cinema Trailers. Turning them on in Android should be similar.
I know that I check the setting in Roku but I am at work so I will verify when I get home.
The Cinema Trailers setting in Android is set to 5 trailers before the movie.
I try to play a movie with my Android with Cinema Trailers enable and it try to play trailer but give me this “Error conversion failed. The transcoder crashes or failed to start up.”
Would you please make it fail one more time then go to Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs.
It will give you a ZIP file. Please post that ZIP file here with your next post. We’ll see what it’s not liking.

I hate to ask this but need to ask you to uncheck " Enable Plex Media Server verbose logging". (Turn OFF)
With Verbose logging on, i do not see very much time. I only see a few minutes and is very difficult to read.
Would you please recreate the problem for me and attach fresh log files?

What are your streaming settings in PMS and your Android player?
I see where it begins to transcode but immediately terminates.
I see where you have the transcoder on F:\ . This should be ok but I am not well versed in Windows. If everything is Windows 10 or F:\ is a hard drive, it will be ok.
What do you mean by streaming settings in PMS and Android, quality or what other setting.
I have 2 external HD, F for TV and D for movies and in the F drive I also have Transcoder temporary directory.
Should I change Transcoder temporary directory to C drive.
As long as the drives are connected to your computer directly, this is ok. Some users wish to put transcoding on the NAS. This is not recommended.
Can you assist with Android settings / screen shots please?
Earlier logs show Transcoder start and immediate exit. Appears client based but nothing definitive.
A question my problem is with stream media (trailer and extra material) do that material is trasncoded.
Which Android setting do you want.
I do not own Android devices. There are application settings. I can only see what PMS is telling me. Android might be asking for a Streaming bit rate which is too low to play anything. I have seen the error but do not know how to check this on Android
Here is the quality settings.
To let you know 99.5% of the time what I use for Plex is Roku.
Ok, turn off automatically adjust quality, and set the home streaming to maximum. You can also set internet streaming to maximum.
I did change the quality setting and here is the new problem. But the media server is working because I am watching something in my Roku.
