Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252
I sync a lot of media to my iPad for offline viewing and my PMS runs in a virtual machine. I’ve noticed that the Plex app on iPad started displaying a warning “server disk space is below 10GB” (this is transient as once Plex downloads the media to the device the converted file is deleted from the server). Once it hits that warning it won’t sync anything else in the playlist.
So I went looking for how to fix this and saw that there is “Transcoder temporary directory” in settings. I changed that to a mounted SMB folder which has tons of space, but apparently Plex only puts some small transcoding session files there and not the ones being converted and ready for download. Those are still going to /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache/Transcode/Sync+ on the VM.
For example:
andrei@plex-vm:~$ cd "/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache/Transcode/Sync+"
andrei@plex-vm:Sync+$ find . -type f -exec ls -lh {} \;
-rw-r--r-- 1 plex plex 817M Sep 16 09:16 ./37830579/4c/8464.mp4.temp
andrei@plex-vm:~$ ls -l /mnt/Plex/.transcode/Transcode/Sessions/plex-transcode-d9e24dc9-5a01-4927-a0e0-34acd19ab039-8071b68d-e4b2-4524-ad0e-3104af1f9bbc/
-rwxr-xr-x 1 plex plex 78812 Sep 16 09:06 temp-0.srt
Is it possible to change where the media being converted and stored for download goes?
