Server Version#: 1.13.9.5456
I just moved my Plex library from an iMac to a Mac mini. The move was effortless. The instructions you provide were easy to follow and worked without a hitch. I keep my libraries on an external hard drive, so all I had to do was plug it in and Plex found all the media files. I didn’t have to do any tinkering with the libraries.
The only problem was that I failed to do my homework, and I didn’t realize that the files in the “Plex Media Server” folder were so large. So even after deleting everything that I possibly can on the Mac mini, I only have about 5 GB of free space left over. That doesn’t leave me much room for growth, and probably isn’t enough room to upgrade the OS.
I suspect the solution is to buy a Mac mini with a larger internal drive, move the server over again, and try to sell this mini on eBay, but before I take that step, I thought I’d ask if there’s any way to either reduce the size of the files in “Plex Media Server” or better yet, move it to an external drive.
Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
