Can we discuss the joke that is Plex Amp?

Plex amp and apple car play… I mean offense here and lots of it, who thinks that its useful to have the artists hiding behind alphabet menu?!?!? I am driving and if I want alice in chains i have to go to A first then the arist?! Why?! This is beyond dumb and super easy to fix and the fact that no one complains about it is clear evidence that no one actually uses it. That might change if it werent a distraction when driving.

Thanks, Chad, you’ve successfully come off not only as offensive but ill-informed. CarPlay in many cases limits the number of items in a list to around 12 while driving, and to 200 in other cases. So the two levels is to allow people to have increased access to their libraries in more cases.

Now if you only have 5 or 6 artists, I can see why you’d be annoyed, but not why you’d have to be such a dick about it.

I’ve noticed that he called it dumb but didn’t offer anything about what a non-dumb solution would look like.

Me? When I use plexamp at all in the car I normally just go to downloaded music and do a shuffle play but lately, I’ve been wanting some more in the way of something like saying “Play ” or “Play ”. I don’t think there are voice commands that plexamp respects like that. I did use the - to find Joe Robinson pretty quickly though.

My artist list in PlexAmp is huge so really appreciate the way the list is presented in Android Auto as it makes getting to where I want to go faster … otherwise I’d be constantly staring at ‘Safety pause … back soon’ messages when trying to get to my Wedding Present albums :slight_smile:
