The Xbox version of Plex has had transcoding issues with mkv 4k HDR content for several months now, the Xbox forum has several different threads on it and is pretty much the main topic of the forum now.
I understand the issue is some combination of MS kernel issues on the Xbox and something else that Plex needs to fix after MS fixes the kernel issue.
Can the Devs please just create a single stick thread on this issue and update it weekly as tot he progress of getting it resolved? Even if it’s just a “spoke with MS onthe issue this week to raise priority” at least we would have an idea of what is being done about it.
I agree. I’m actually so over it that I’ve cancelled Plex Pass. I understand that there may be things out of their control but communication has been mediocre and it has been going on for a long time now. I know I’m only one person but I’m using what minimal power I have.
Yes please! Couldn’t agree more. Tired of reading 6 different threads on this subject only for it be a new round of people upset about this issue. Devs, please give us a one-stop-shop for updates from you. Not interested in hearing about user’s speculation.
The Plex team needs to do a better job relaying information to it’s customers (us). I’m a developer and my team nor my customer would accept the completely lack of transparency regarding priorities (fixes/highly requested features). Not giving dates is one thing and is understandable.
While I am not a dev, I can tell you Moussa is still working with Microsoft to fix this specific issue. I am actually in the process of updating the sticky to have more clear and current information. (I lost it in my feed during the forum migration, but have found and set it in my sights)
