The latter organizes any track from an album with multiple artists to ‘Various Artists.’ This is really annoying if I want to play all the tracks from a specific artist, but happens to be in albums with other artists. This also leads to a large list of tracks to fall into “Various Artists.” Why in the world would the sort by “Artists” even use Album Artists anyway?
I strongly support this request. In my music library there are many titles from samplers or compilations. They’re all tagged with “various artist” as album artist. Since most other tools can handle the artist as well, I don’t want to tag all my songs again manually, because even with gracenote plex tags them as sampler titles.

Or at the very least a custom sort, seriously, I have so many compilation CDs and couldn’t tell you half the artists in my library because Plex is incapable of letting me know.
