The new player can’t play a lot of subtitled content. After every update it gets turned back on and it’s getting frustrating since it’s been months and this apparently isn’t getting fixed anytime soon. Please stop turning it back on.
100% agree - please stop doing this at least until all bugs are fixed. As much as I like the new look I’m not able to use it as the vast majority of my content won’t play unless I enable audio-passthru’ - something which has never been an issue on the “old” player.

I have to agree, this is somewhat of a bother. The new player chokes on a lot of movies, so I use the old player untill the new player is stable.

Plex devs: There is a reason people switch OFF the new player. Please accept that and stop forcing this piece of junk!
Pls don’t implement a new player at all - it has a lot of bugs and useless features, personally:
- I need to tap an additional button to run video in a small picture when I do something else (in the old version just push button on iPad) during this minimization new player freeze playback and after minimize resume but 10-20 sec back, the old player just minimizing without interruption.
- player itself to slow compared to old. For example, in old it takes to start video 1-2 sec on new 10-15 or even it could say that can’t play it now and I need to reopen the app and try to play it again
and so on… This is mostly annoying.
I totally agree! I don’t even like the new interface at all. I am tired of switching it back.
I agree! New player has tons of bugs. I don’t even see how it slipped past QA testing. Honestly more reason to pull the trigger and switch to Emby.
Yes, I would like this facility to stop the new player activating by default after every update.
My content plays with a green screen, with audio only. Or flashing between the green screen and the content.
I’ve got a Formula Z7+ device, which uses the Android Plex app.
It’s just really frustrating that it defaults to this option.
I like the new player, it is mostly working well for me.
I hate the new player. It “works” but I do not like the format of where things are. There was nothing wrong with the “old” player. Everything plays fine on it on all of my streaming devices. I strongly dislike having to stop what I start watching, go into the settings to disable it. It can be easily fixed by not overwriting the saved settings on the device when updating. Please please please fix it.

I am about ready to jump back to emby, why in the world do they think we enjoy randomly discovering that the new video player is enabled?
