On the Roku client, when scrubbing, the playback itself doesn’t advance/rewind to the scrub point until it’s manually selected. In particular, pressing “back” allows you to exit scrubbing without advancing/rewinding. On at least the Shield TV client, scrubbing moves playback almost immediately, with no ability to cancel scrubbing. It would be nice to see the Roku client functionality implemented for other clients.

I use Plex on Android TV and my phone. While playing a video, I sometimes like to view thumbnails before/ahead of the current video without interrupting the current playback until I locate the exact spot I want to skip to. Currently this feature is not available, so while I scroll through thumbnails, Plex will keep trying to skip to the latest spot of the “cursor”. Not only does this interrupt the viewing experience, sometimes this also causes Plex to crash because there’s too many skipping around back and forth. This behavior is the same even if I pause the video before scrolling through the video timeline.
