Having the same issue via docker on unraid. PLEASE FIX ASAP
Same Here, I updated my Plex Server on unraid via docker, it is not working. I would revert it, but I donāt know how. I read in another thread they know the problem and are fixing it. I hope they roll out quickly! We are using Plex as a media library for training and tutorial videos. We need the fix ASAP.
Do you need server logs from the current working Plex Server (Version 1.32.8.7639)? or from the new broken Plex (v.1.40.0.7998-c29d4c0c8)?
or both?
If the new broken Plex Iām going to have to break my Server database/ library again.
Yes.
I would also note that db changes are fairly common. if youāve been using PMS longer than a few months I can assure you that you have completed them successfully in the past so this should not be a dealbreaker for you moving forward.
Thanks, this tool did find errors in my database. I wasnāt able to repair the database, but it looks like the server makes backups on its own periodically. A month old database is better then starting over.
I find it extremely obnoxious that an update basically bricked a fully functional install and it couldnāt resolve itself. Do better Plex with your updates.
it is possible existing corruption in the db that didnāt affect playback recently did not survive the db migration
Plex has no way of detecting this on its own, which is why a db maintenance tool is provided. I appreciate your frustration however, between automating backups of the db and providing a tool for users to verify the integrity of their db at any time they want, Iām not sure how Plex could have ādone betterā here
How about building a database integrity check into the update process that would warn of a problem before trying to install the update? Or an option to run an integrity check during the update process. Until reading this thread (because my update failed) I had no idea a db maintenance tool existed.
Asking your average Plex user to go and get the tool and running it is outside the comfort level of the average user. It need to be an easy option that can be run from the Plex app.
